We wanted to communicate the sense of warm, tingly nostalgia that washes over us every time we peruse the shelves of the Georgia General, bursting with vintage packaging, antiques and eclectic general goods.

There’s something about the sturdy graphic structures, rich colour tones and scuffed edges that draws you in to a comfortable place, like a fond memory. From the very start, it was important to us to bake that feeling in authentically. And for us, it was going about it the old way - letterpress, ink and paper.

After salivating over woodcut type blocks for hours, we locked a wordmark, scanned hundreds of copies at different reliefs and forged a logotype that could only be owned by Georgia General.

We scanned our selects in at super high resolution and processed them in to digital format. This might seem backwards, but to us, it was sticking true to the process of creating something authentic. Art is the end product, but also the process - in our book this applies to commercial art too!

We baked the full brand with a timeless logo, a suite of illustrations inspired by the vintage brands and packaging found in store, and a bespoke built typeface to top it off.
